At Logical Letters we work with each client to provide a personalized program that is based on his or her academic, emotional and attentional issues. The program is delivered on a one-to- one basis. Students attend Logical Letters to work with one of our specialists during the school day, after school or in the morning before school.
In addition to our core remedial program, our students also benefit from the following additional services.
She started to change, and she started to blossom, and she went from a child who couldn’t look in your eyes […] to a child now who is working in an elementary school.
Emotional Support
Our success is owed not only to the Logical Letters method that significantly improves the reading, comprehension and spelling skills, but is also attributable to sensitive and careful teaching about dyslexia, offered at age-appropriate levels.
At Logical Letters, we offer children simplified, yet meaningful and accurate scientific information about dyslexia, while being exposed to a method that proves to the student how competent a learner s/he is.
We have seen so very many times that once a child begins to grasp an understanding of what dyslexia really is, they begin to erase their self-diagnosis of “stupidity” and begin to realize that they do not have a “broken brain”. Understanding the true nature of dyslexia empowers them with hope and provides them with the extra energy that is needed when facing their struggles.
When a student understands his/her own dyslexia and concurrently witnesses a quick skill improvement, the belief in their “good brains” begins to emerge. That is hugely empowering for the student!

Service with a Smile, a Snack and a Story
We understand that dyslexic students have to put in far more energy than others to process language. The remediation process is exhausting. It is often necessary to “power up” with a glass of chocolate milk or to take a small break. Our specialists use every minute of each lesson wisely, to have the most effective 60 minutes possible. Taking a minute to play a short game often re-energizes the child, allowing for greater productivity during the rest of the lesson.
Curriculum Support
Logical Letters’ primary goal is to help dyslexic students become competent readers and writers. In the past, we felt that when a student became proficient in these areas our goal was achieved. If needed, we would recommend other learning clinics or support systems to students who were struggling with subject content.
However, some students do come back to us, requesting our support. As part of Logical Letters’ commitment to full service for our students, those who request support for course content may stay at Logical Letters after they have become competent readers/spellers.
Our experience has shown that our instructors' deep awareness of the dyslexic style of learning and of language processing increases the students’ learning capacity for specific subject matter. While the staff at Logical Letters never intended to support content courses, this is now another aspect of our service. Although other tutors may be masters at history, math, or other curriculum areas, the Logical Letters specialists are masters at teaching this content in a style that matches dyslexic strengths.
Logical Letters has specialists who understand the learning needs of dyslexic students and are capable and happy to support high school, CEGEP and university level courses when necessary.
